The objective of Chile’s first NDC wasis to reduce CO2 emissions per gross domestic product (GDP) unit by up to 30-45% below 2007 levels by 2030. In addition, Chile has committed to sustainable development and the recovery of 100,000 hectares of forest land, mainly native, which will reduce carbon emissions by an annual equivalent of around 600,000 of CO2 as of 2030.
