This webinar shared experiences on the collaboration between Switzerland and Ghana, that was recently formalised by the signing of an MoU which should culminate in a bilateral agreement being signed in 2020. This agreement will open the door to a number of commercial agreements and projects in Ghana, that will be financially de-risked to some extent through finance from Switzerland, catalysing private sector investment into emission reduction activities in Ghana. The sort of projects being discussed are the installation of solar PV systems for commercial consumers, solar lanterns, solar home systems and provision of improved cooking systems nation-wide.

For more information on the MoU that Ghana and Switzerland signed, please see this press release.

Speakers:
Daniel Tutu, Chief Environmental Officer, Environmental Protection Agency, Ghana
Micha Classen, Director, Carbon Procurement, KliK Foundation
