UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner is pleased to invite you and your guests to our flagship event showcasing how the world can take swift and meaningful action on climate change and how UNDP is delivering on its commitment to scale up support to countries.

The event – which will be attended by UNFCCC Executive Secretary Patricia Espinosa and UNDP Goodwill Ambassador Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, as he returns from a fact-finding mission to Peru – will begin with the launch of a unique outlook report on global ambition and 2020 intentions that is informed by the perspectives of more than 130 governments and was prepared in collaboration with UNFCCC – our ambition.

UNDP will present its scaled-up commitment of support, ‘UNDP’s Climate Promise’, aimed at helping 100 countries enhance their NDCs by 2020 – our acceleration effort.

The event will conclude with a preview of ‘Mission 1.5’, an interactive digital media experience to help citizens to have a voice in the next generation of climate action – our mobilization effort.
