Regional NDC Dialogue for EurAsia

Overview

This EurAsia Regional NDC Dialogue, held in Istanbul, Turkey, was organised by UNDP, the UNFCCC Secretariat, and the UNDP/UNEP Global Support Programme (GSP) for National Communications and Biennial Update Reports, in coordination with the NDC Partnership.

The dialogue was hosted by the Government of Turkey and brought together approximatley 100 participants, including representatives from 30 Eurasian countries, as well as other countries and organizations.
 

Objectives

• Take stock of submitted I/NDCs from the region and the UNFCCC climate negotiations.
  
• Provide a forum for exchanging country experiences and perspectives on preparing I/NDCs and planning for implementation, including envisioned challenges and support needs.
  
• Discuss next steps and key technical and institutional issues related to NDC implementation at the national level.
  
• Explore ways to engage the private sector in NDC implementation.
