Overview
The Africa Regional Training Workshop on Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs), held in Entebbe, Uganda, was co-organised by UNDP and the International Partnership for Mitigation & MRV. It was held in collaboration with the UNFCCC Secretariat as part of the joint UNDP-UNFCCC INDC Regional Dialogues funded by a number of donors.
The workshop brought together representatives of Anglophone and Lusophone African Countries, convening 33 participants from 18 African countries, as well as a number of resource experts and representatives of other organisations
Objectives
- Initiate a public-private dialogue on how to stimulate the involvement of the private sector in climatechange mitigation actions.
- Discuss experiences in private sector participation on mitigation actions.
- Engage various actors in a discussion on policy objectives and innovative approaches to supportnationally appropriate mitigation actions.
- Exchange lessons learned on improving market conditions to enhance private investment.
