NDC Events

 

As a convener, UNDP excels at bringing together a wide set of stakeholders – representatives from governments, partner agencies, CSOs, the academia and the private sector – to drive discussions on climate and development solutions. Whether we are in one of the driving seats, or a contributor, our focus is on having representatives from the countries showcase their experiences, develop leadership and technical skills, and jointly discuss solutions for low carbon development. Our events also provide an exceptional opportunity for supporting parties to identify emerging support needs based on country experiences.

This joint LEDS LAC event, which is held virtually this year, will focus on "Climate action in times of crisis: “Promoting sustainable recovery after COVID-19 in Latin America and the Caribbean”. In particular, we will discuss three main thematic areas (1) Design of long-term strategies, (2) Update and raising ambition of the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and (3) a sectoral component particularly related for transport and sustainable mobility.
